Searching for Wordpress plugins?
Until recently an effective search for Wordpress plugins was often best accomplished by guessing what the plugin might be called, trawling the web and going directly to the coders homepage. In other words the plugin search on Wordpress.org was a bit of a non-event.
But no more, now we have a better search! Powered by Sphinx (a “free open-source SQL full-text search engine”) which searches through the plug-in’s title, description and details from the plugin’s readme.txt file. You can search on the Plugins Directory both from the website and from within your blog’s admin (Plugins ? Add New).
